The Illusion of Failure
Failure is often perceived as a dead-end, a sign that we are not good enough or that our efforts were in vain. Over the past few months, I've been redefining what failure means to me. I've also been learning new ways to navigate my "failures". Earlier this month, I read a life-changing book titled "Outwitting the Devil" where the phrases "there is no such thing as failure, only temporary defeat" and "every adversity brings with it an equivalent seed of advantage" were repeated multiple times. It's true, the only time that we really fail is when we give up. I LIVE by the saying "there is a solution to EVERY problem." Brainwashing myself to think that way has led me to naturally become solution-based over the years. Don't get me wrong, it can be absolutely terrifying at moments when I realize that I may be "failing" at something, but that's when I remind myself to immediately pivot. Change is inevitable and knowing how to adapt to change is how you can quickly overcome any challenges. To me, failure isn't really failure. It's the Universe providing us with a chance to learn, to elevate, to grow, to do things differently. Sometimes failures are actually freeing us from something that was no longer in alignment - but we otherwise wouldn't have walked away from. "Failure" is freedom because it provides us with a fresh start. If you're at the point of wanting to give up, don't. Don't deem yourself powerless before you give it 110%. I want you to remember, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO PICK YOURSELF BACK UP, YOU HAVE WITHIN YOU. We don't fail, we just pivot and become better.
Sending love,
Javia
